I wanted to check everyone's thoughts on using the title combo. I've seen a run of the Gauntlet with someone using it, a quick google gives affirmation that it is possible but with the stipulation of the wild shape holding a finesse weapon.
The "Objects" subheading for Wild Shape is as follows:
"Your ability to handle objects is determined by the form’s limbs rather than your own. In addition, you choose whether your equipment falls in your space, merges into your new form, or is worn by it. Worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it’s practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment based on the creature’s size and shape."
I can see Wild Shapes with thumbs and talons, able to 'handle' a weapon, the argument would be whether it can utilize the weapon not just hold it. However, if it is merged with the form ie (my finesse weapon becomes the tips of my owl's talons) then as long as your DM is cool with it I guess that would suffice too.
Ultimately it's up to your DM but I wanted to see what a consensus might be.
Edit for clarification, 2024 Wild Shape Moon Druid
(2024) For a monkey I would have no problem with it, but am failing to see a use for it.
DD uses your reaction to add PB to ONE incoming attack that has hit. Wildshapes often have poor AC, eg wolf is AC 11, (triceratops 14, mammoth 13 etc for moon druid)
Barkskin gives an AC17 against all attacks, a little less than level 17 DD bonus on beast AC but it is useable from level 3. For single opponents with one attack sure DD helps, but most of the time against multiple opponents or multi-attack opponents you get one reaction a round so i'd rather go Barkskin.
I think you may be misinterpreting the use of it. DD does use your reaction on an incoming hit, but then you keep the AC until the start of your next turn against melee attacks.
Apologies I left out some crucial information, have edited the OP.
Wild Shape Moon Druid 2024 have an AC of 13 + your wisdom from memory, so it would be advantageous or even better than barkskin, not to mention barkskin is a spell that cannot be used while in a wild shape.

That is the case for the 2024 version. The old version only applied the AC bonus to the triggering attack. It's something a lot of people have missed.

While you can't cast spells while in Wild Shape, going into Wild Shape doesn't end any spells you might have already cast, so you can cast Barkskin first and then go into Wild Shape and retain its effect (this has long been a common Druid tactic). However, you're right that the new Circle of the Moon feature will be equivalent or better if your Wisdom is at least 18.

Thank you for your response, sorry I worded my sentence poorly. You can cast it before wild shape similarly to longstrider etc however as mentioned it is likely not worth or irrelevant, especially after your first feat. I meant it isn't a spell that can be cast while already in wild shape.
Make more sense thanks. And yeah I messed up on the 2024 DD duration. So definitely valid and I'm not playing moon druid so missed the AC thing too - noob or what.
Thanks!
