So Jeremy Crawford recently tweeted confirmation that the Circle of Spores Druid will be promoted from unofficial (Unearthed Arcana) to official in an upcoming book, with changes from the UA version "based on the feedback we received."
I think it could be neat, and I hope that they got feedback that would fix my issues with the UA version, which were mostly to do with flavor: Death and Decay isn't the same as undeath. I think that the summons that this circle allows should be flavored as fungus creatures like myconids rather than undead.
I've been playtesting since it was released and submitted feedback myself. Namely that the wild shape ability needs to be on a bonus action since it encourages melee so much and also that poison didn't feel like the right element for all of the damage for a death and decay Druid. I also had the exact same thoughts on the summons so my DM and I homebrewed an undead tree creature in place of the skeleton and allowed me to summon a violet fungus in place of the zombie. It's been fun.

Anyone else looking forward to this?

Very much so. I played a Spore Druid in a one shot and loved the flavour and the mechanics. Excited to see the polished version.
From what I recall, this subclass was meant to be part of the Ravnica setting - they're the Golgari druids.
