In my current campaign, we've been given 3 months downtime.
Now I've recently been trying to retake nature (that's essentially my flavour - I'm a vegetarian druid) :D
Just kicked the ass of some demons that were burning down the forest, and earned the favour of some very high level druids, and am starting to try and create my own 'clan' of sorts. I've got a thing with awakening animals and plants (not wanting them as servants/slaves etc) but as 'protectors' for themselves. Giving them the power (to even rise up if they so choose).
I've just setup a 'Druids Grove' think like World of Warcraft? But smaller.
I've got 12 awakened shrubs as 'care takers' and currently trying to get a few oak trees as sentinels.(Awaken spell).
What level are you? If you have 6th-level spells you can cast Druid Grove (although it takes a year to become permanent). Maybe you could recruit one of thos high-level druids to continue your work casting for the next 9 months.
You can also do a TON of mold earth / shape water / plant growth to improve the area.
Don't know about reasonable, but WotC's unofficial cost for buying spellcasting services is level squared times 10 gold plus twice the cost of any consumed materials or 10% of the cost of any non-consumed materials. For plant growth this would be 90gp per casting, maybe a bit more since it's an 8hr long cast time so you'll be spending the whole day there.

That's actually not bad. I was going to go 25% of the profit from the crop :D

But what else would you do in 3 month?
I would cast Polymorph and Conjure spells in order to learn a ton of new shapes that you can wild shape into.

Not to mention the 8 hour version of Plant Growth.

unfortunately I'm only level 11, no 6 level spells yet. It'd be a great idea though :D
I'm thinking a mold earth option which could be cool.
I'm thinking Plant Growth (8 hour option) would be best. I'm not sure if the abilities stack though?
If I were to sell my services in using Plant Growth (to help farmers with far superior crops) how much would be a reasonable amount?
And what crops in the DND world would be best?
