Could it potentially be used to speak simple conversation? Druids keep all their mental stats/knowledge and their form just morphs to a creature, not an entirely new one...I figured the only limitations would be the vocal box of the animal and not able to make some noises.
I ask because I turned into a Raven in my SOs game, and I know Ravens can make a lot of humanlike noises irl. But when I was trying to just say simple words like 'no' or 'stop' (an NPC was chasing me out of the house at first because they didn't know I was a druid 😅) which the Mimicry feature said simple sounds.. they were under the impression that I could only say things the NPC yelling at me - like only copying them 😕
I never really liked the explanation of mimicry. Any creature that knows a language would be able to have completely fluent conversations by mimicking only words they have heard in less than a year.
It makes more sense if you can only mimic sounds you can remember in detail, which would probably only be from the last few days.
Either way, I would have given you at least "no" but just go with DM ruling (more challenge, but more fun).

Probably not going to use this anymore - Moving to Kobold Press with their Black Flag Project for free and open core-ruleset they are working on.
