I want to play a Moon Druid for an upcoming Descent into Avernus campaign. I'm not looking to be super optimised, but I don't want to be useless either. I was wondering if someone who has played it could let me know if Druids are fine for it so I'm not dragging my party down.
I haven't played it but I imagine you will be facing a whole lot of stuff that's immune to non-magical attacks, and a Moon Druid's animal forms don't get magical attacks until level 6. Just something to keep in mind.
As counterpoint to what Jaysburn said, having just started gming the adventure and having read through it, with no spoilers, level 6 is a very reasonable level at which you start to really interact and get challenged by Avernus. Druids are obviously also useful in a fiery hellscape what with goodberry being a very cheap way to keep the party fed and alive.

counterpoint. Druids are quite flammable....
mans there’s not much wood in hell. (Depends on how nice your DM feels)

They are pretty tanky which is good in any adventure with combat.
