Hypothetical question: If a Druid takes the Ritual Caster Feat (Wizard).....and the spell is on both the Druid&Wizard list i.e. Detect Magic, Water Breathing, etc can they choose those spells as a Druid and copy them into their Wizard Ritual book?
OK - say you find a scroll of water breathing and you intend to copy it into your ritual book......how do you know if it's written for/by a Druid or Wizard? That spell is on both lists.
Oh sorry, i misunderstood. Good question. This link describes it as no not from prepared but you could make a scroll from the druid side then copy that.
Thanks for the link. I guess I was trying to think outside the box a little and I know it would be up to the DM. I would want to take the Wizard Ritual Caster for Identify and a few other Wizard Ritual spells that i don't think the INT modifier would effect but, my Druid does have a 13 INT so that part wont really matter. Just trying to 'get around' having to prepare a few of the spells that are on the Wizard list to be able to cast them as Rituals.
Also, another question: how does the spell level advance for Ritual Caster? i.e. the 3rd level Tiny Hut spell - when a Druid gains the ability to cast 3rd level spells could he then add that spell to his Ritual Book provided he found the means to copy it into the book?
Again, thanks for the help and advice. I appreciate it.
Strictly by the rules, you can only add spells to the book from written sources. So you can create a scroll and then copy it into your book or possibly write the spell down then copy it into the book but you can't directly write the spell into the book. As DM, I would let you write directly into the book.
Spell level allowed for ritual caster is the same as if you were a full caster at your character level, half your total level rounded up. This is because ritual caster is intended for non-magical classes as well as casters.
I too would allow you to write directly into your book, but I'm make you spend the time and resources as if creating a spell scroll. I'd also insist that you be proficient in arcana to do this (you need arcana proficiency to create spell scrolls).

I would just require the usual mats for copying from a scroll along with the arcana check (DC 10+spell level) that wizards need to beat to copy a scroll into their book, (that ritual caster doesn't need by RAW for some reason) failure using the time and materials but not getting the copy.
well reading the details of the ritual caster feet and it only says The class you choose also determines your spell casting ability for these spells: Charisma for bard, sorcerer, or warlock; Wisdom for cleric or druid; or Intelligence for wizard. so as long as you fulfill the Prerequisite of having a Intelligence or Wisdom of 13 or higher you can be a druid with some wizards notes on Ritual's that you found that you can use.

No it is just from the wizard list and all the spells from your ritual book will use your int modifier.
