This is really up to the DM, but I think the assumption is that studded leather armor does have metal studs (or really actually is more metal than you'd think -- isn't it supposed to be small metal plates studded to the inside of a leather outer piece?).
But some DMs will allow alternate materials, such as bone studs or bone/ironwood/actual scale.
NB RAI, studded leather is fine for druids. RAW, the DMG states that magical armour may use non-standard (read non-metal) materials.
I 2nd this...prior editions there were several woods that were substitutes for metal. ...Coldwood and Duskwood are two that i know of. Coldwood even specifically said "Coldwood also allows druids to wear armor types usually made of metal."
Duskwood is a 5e wood (see, Forgotten Realms Style Guide, which was published in 2019 - and is an official AL guide) and it states that its as 'hard as iron', but it doesn't specifically say it can be used as a substitute for metal in armor. ...but i'd say the spikes could be made out of that.
Does Studded Leather Armor count as being made of metal for druids? Is it something that they will wear? Or is it something that they’ll avoid?

My Kobold Druid has leather studded with the recycled teeth of deceased Kobolds.
