My name is Dan. I am relatively new to D&D (just started playing back in January of this year), and in my first campaign (Ghosts of Saltmarsh), I am playing a Circle of the Moon Druid. I am wondering if you can help me out with something. I am leveling up to level 4, and wondering what Feat to take (if any)? Basically, it is a case of "Too Many Options" paralysis, and having never played a Druid before (and being relatively new to D&D in general), I kinda have no idea what I am doing. I will happily take any help and advice that I can get. My party consists of myself (Wildthalas Half-Elven, Circle of the Moon Druid), Dwarf Cleric, Elf Storm Sorcerer, Goliath Barbarian, and Elf Rogue/Scout. Between myself and the Goliath Barbarian, we are kind of the "tanks" of the party, front-line damage dealers. What should my loadout for spells be? What would my best options for tactics in combat be? Currently, it is pretty much: Wildshape into Brown Bear, Multiattack until either enemy dies or I shapeshift back, rinse and repeat (and hope I don't die).
Druids aren't really a feat heavy class, but the number one feat taken by druids is war caster. Advantage on spell concentration saves is big. From the way your describing your playstyle casting spells isnt your forte...even though casting a concentration spell then wildshape should be.
Mobile feat would be excellent for you. Tough or resilient couldnt hurt either.
I was thinking Mobile! Everything that I was reading online said: "Alert, Mobile, Lucky, are great on anybody, and for Druids specifically: Resilient Con, Warcaster, Magic Initiate, Ritual Caster, and Observant", but while that does narrow it down some, and it does help, I still am unsure.
Magic Initiate, Ritual Caster, and even Observant aren't must haves since more spells doesn't really exactly benefit all of the time when your not necessarily casting them that much anyway. While Resilient Con or War Caster are potentially higher on your list for the benefits they can provide you even when your using an animals physical stats. Do remember that boosting your Wisdom with ASI's can be a good thing because you rely on that stat quite a bit for both many of your chosen skills as well as your spells when you do decide to use them. Mobile and lucky are just generally useful on a lot of builds and still niche useful on some others.
other than that since you are Circle of the Moon. Consider things that help you out in some capacity while wild shaped or to prepare for wild shaping. That is kind of your focus overall. Where as spell casting and such is more your backup plan with circle of the moon. Every time you get high enough level to get a new CR of forms. Familiarize yourself with some new options and talk to your DM about ones your allowed to use or might be able to obtain because there might be something better. if your having trouble getting up to enemies in a turn. Mobile becomes a lot more valuable for example. But if your form has 40 or 50 movement speed and that is usually enough for you that's not entirely a bad thing. Observant is a nice feat to help if your getting ambushed a lot but it doesn't stop ambushes from happening no matter how high it gets. There's always ways you can still be ambushed if your DM is clever or really thinking about what Observant says and when it works. War Caster is strong for Moon Druids because you can cast buff or concentration attack spells like Call Lightning and help to keep them going, particularly since not all animal forms have the best constitution modifier and you will be using that when shape changed so having advantage on the concentration check can be a major boon to keeping that buff or attack spell.
I would say take the +2 wisdom. It helps a lot. If not, then taking war caster or alert. Both are really good, and the bonus initiative from alert means you can jump in early to attack.

Thank you all very much in advance,

Out of curiosity what are your stats?
