Hi all, I'm in a small pickle and need some help one way or another. Invisibility I find is a nice useful spell, great in many occasions and a spell I've used on numerous characters in the past. I'd really like my Druid to have access to it this time, on his own, not via items. I'm fully aware that it's not a druid spell or one I have access to, but is there a way around this? Is there any feats or small scale multi-classing that can be done to make it work? I'm currently level 9, the DM has informed us that we'll be level 10 within next few weeks, and 12 shouldn't be too long away (before New Years possibly).
Invisibility, being a second level spell, requires at least 3 levels in a class that has it in the spell list. However, if we look at all the classes with Invisibility on their lists, we have Bard, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Wizard. The first 3 are charisma casters and wizard is intelligence caster- Which do not help us as a wisdom caster. So multiclassing is always an option, but let's delve deeper into this.
The Druid Circle of the Land offers invisibility. This is offered to Circle of the Grassland and the Circle of the Underdark (greater invisibility). I presume you are neither of these, so let's continue.
Cleric, a wisdom caster, does not have a subclass that offers invisibility as a class spell, unfortunately. I took a glance at ranger, a wisdom half caster, and nada.
After my time scouring for a noble option, I have come to the conclusion: If you really REALLY want invisibility, anything is up for grabs since all the options are equally eh. However, roleplay wise, I found that multiclassing 3 levels in sorcerer and taking storm sorcery was quite fitting for a druid. And at 3rd level sorcerer, you also have 3 sorcery points which you can (I think) use on druid spells.
But this brings me to my last point: Maybe you shouldnt have invisibility. Yes, it is a great spell and very useful, but as a druid, maybe consider the alternatives to the situation where invisibility would be optimal. Maybe cast Pass Without Trace? Or wildshape into an ant and crawl your way there? Perhaps you can cast Tree Stride to entirely avoid the situation? I'm just saying that there are many alternatives to Invisibility that could add flavor, or even fun times and memories, into your campaign session.
Just some ideas!

I agree with MarvelMan about druids not really needing invisibility. We have a lot of options for doing things you might need invisibility for. He mentioned Wild Shape, Pass Without Trace, and Tree Stride. There is also Wind Walk. Spore druids and Land (Underdark) also get Gaseous Form. There's Shape Stone and Passwall if you need to get into a room.
It gives you a +1 to Wisdom (or int or char), so that's pretty good. It gives you invisibility and one other first level spell (illusion or necromancy only) which you can cast for free once per day or using spell slots.
I suppose the ability to cast invisibility on others and wild shape for yourself could be useful, but there are probably better feats in general. Regardless, if you really want it, that feat is the best way to get it on a druid. I would rather take the feat than pick Grassland as my land druid type. Underdark is pretty solid though.
I don't have Tasha's yet or I would have probably shared the same thing. Thank you Zoltar. Frankly, I don't necessarily use invisibility often enough to warrant all these steps to get it, but you do you man. We all have favorites and such.

You can get it 1/day as a racial from one of the variant tieflings (Glasya). The shadow-touched feat can give it to you once/day. Taken together you can get it twice/day
Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
Actually, shadow-touched not only gives you the ability to cast Invisibility 1/day, but it also allows you to cast it using a spell slot so long as you're a caster and are the appropriate level to cast the spell.

Fantastic. So it appears the best route to take for access to invisibility as a druid is to take the Shadow Touched feat for the ability to cast Invisibility at will and to add it to your spell list.

Good catch, that solves his problem entirely.

So ThatGuyHale, I hope this helped you. I did my best to scour PHB and XGtE for more class options while Zoltar and those with MONEY used Tasha's. But remember, adventurer. Every method is a good method if you consider the roleplay aspect of it. In fact, I loved the idea of a level 3 storm sorcerer level X druid, I might do it.

I was fortunate enough to be gifted Tasha's as an early Christmas present. Of course, since we play together, and have content sharing enabled...everyone in my party gets to benefit from the gift!

BUT if you really want to get invisibility there is a new feat in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything called Shadow Touched (https://www.dndbeyond.com/feats/shadow-touched)
It gives you a +1 to Wisdom (or int or char), so that's pretty good. It gives you invisibility and one other first level spell (illusion or necromancy only) which you can cast for free once per day or using spell slots.

You can use wildshape to turn into a rat. That is almost as good...
