I'm new to DnD Beyond, and I got the hang of it kinda like roll20. But right now I think to ask you. to Warhammer 40k and DnD players, Should Space Marine start as a Fighter? There's a lot of space marine in 40k due of factions. (chapter if 40k want to call it.) And some for DnD classes that fit for a space marine. The most so far is Paladin since they fight as a tank. But for me, I saw them as Fighter since they mostly use melee and firearms. Should Space Marine start as fighter? If so, which subclass/homebrew that play well?
As you mentioned it depends on the kind of space marine you are going for. A cleric or a paladin would be good for librarians. Barbarians especially those that take path of the bear at level 3 can be good tanks as well but they would go for the more close quarters space marines. Built correctly a rouge could be used as a scout or something similar. A space marine devastator would probably need magic so eldritch knight might work for them.
Or you could homebrew it yourself. You will probably also need to homebrew some enemies, especially if you make the space marines really powerful but a few higher level demons from the core book could also work.
Generally speaking, heavy armor proficiency is hard to get and critical to playing a space marine (10th company is a special case). That means fighter, cleric, paladin, or artificer (armorer), because feats are too precious to spend solving this. You can 100% do it with Fighter - just remember to drop a feat on Gunner unless you're building a dedicated assault marine.
For normal marines, the best subclasses are going to be battlemaster and samurai, probably. For an assault marine, both of those are still good, but cavalier is also an excellent choice, especially if you're a White Scar. Eldritch Knight would be excellent for a Grey Knight assault specialist.

And yes my englist and grammar suck.

I hope this helps.
