For my actual game I lost rogue :c so needed to make some new champion. So i though about DPR archer with some sneaky skills and good perception build because its all we lack in party. For roleplay part i took Tabaxi Entertainer background with 5lvl of Fighter Battle Master with long bow. My stats for now: Str 10 Dex 18 Con 14 Int 8 Wis 15 Cha 13
I pick sharpshooter feat at 4lvl so now i take 6lvl fighter so i can make resilient feat on wis it help me againts some mind spells wich my DM plan to spam on our party because it's very effective. And here is my question, shoud i do dip in clear fighter or maybe rogue would be better option with some good subclass.
I know u can say don't dump inteligence but i wanna play a little easy mind character witch straight thinking so much intelligence i leave for our wizard ^^ Especially when my skills witch i picked are Acrobatics, Perception, Performance (some RP fun), Sleight of Hand, Stealth and Survival. Any tips would be helpfull.
The initial build idea seems solid and well thought. If you guys have no "rogueish" support at the moment (given your rogue is no more) how about going the Scout route? It has very good synergy with ranged builds and with the Tabaxi race you could become extremely effective in every situation.

Yeah thats the point why i pick that type of character. Tabaxi for me is fun with roleplay and meowing everywhere and his speed boost is very nice for making good positioning. About roguish support its harder cause i died already as rogue in that party. For now my friend come with me as Cleric of Trickery so his advantage for stealth comming for me ^^ And scout one looks good. I must consider it with other opinions.
Ah, I see my post was incomplete so I probably didn't deliver the intended meaning ^^
I meant to suggest for the progression from Fighter you already have in mind to go with the Rogue Scout, as you mentioned you are considering adding some Rogue levels. Arcane archer might seem best as a first choice for a Fighter subclass for an ranged build, but I think Battle Master is a very solid choice thanks to the additional battlefield control you can use. Scout would complete well the toolset, I think.

I am working on Tiefling Rogue 2/Fighter 3 Arcane archer, with the stealth expertise, seeking arrow and sneak attack bonus, all I need to do is glimpse an enemy, duck back out of sight and ping an arcane arrow which seeks him out and hits for Arrow damage + 1d6 force + sneak 1d6 and he has no idea where it came from. Add to that the tiefling ability to cast darkness. Spot an enemy, cast darkness then your seeking arrow will hit him regardless of if you can still see him
A month late to the party on this one, but I'm currently building a ranged Fighter meself, and I'm contemplating the following path:
Battlemaster Fighter 5 or 6 - Sharpshooter is a must, and ya can't beat two attacks as early as possible. Might be worth taking the ASI at 6th, too, to max out your Dexterity.
Hexblade Warlock 3 - Hexblade's Curse is glorious. Take the Mage Armor invocation, and later the Improved Pact Weapon one. Spells: True Strike, Mage Hand (just because lol), Hex, Hellish Rebuke, Shield and Invisibility. Only downside is you can't do the whole hand crossbow thing. Yeah you lose out on a wee bit of damage, but holy heck it'll still be fun :D
Scout Rogue til whenever - Most campaigns won't last long enough to get too far, but your primary thing you want here (besides the obvious Sneak Attack & Cunning Action) is the 3rd level Skirmisher trait.
Let's say you make it to level 11. Each round you'd be pumping out two attacks that, if they hit:
1d8+1 (Improved Pact Weapon) +15 (Sharpshooter) +4 (Hexblade's Curse) +1d6 (Hex) = ~29 damage each plus 1d6 sneak attack = average of 62 damage each round.
There are other builds that do more damage (specifically Crossbow Expert feat & hand crossbow - if you want to go that route, I'd suggest replacing Warlock with Hunter Ranger for the free Horde Breaker sharpshooter attack in most fights, too):
Or you could go straight fighter all the way, honestly, and do Crossbow Expert. 11th level gets you a third attack anyhoo and then it's pewpewpew all the way home :D
Tbh i changed my build a litle. But now my archer is very nice. I mean i picked samurai subclass wich give me advantage on turn 3 times per long rest and addictional temporary hp. With action surge its nice dpr with 4 advantage sharpshooter shots. Wisdom proficiency for free at 7 lvl is creme ala creme for my wisdom build because now i can go with Observant build for 21 Passive Perception. My tabaxi Saphiro now is called in my team "kitty balista" so consider samurai subclas.
Now after we reach 8 lvl and i pick Observant and talked with my DM so he give me permission for UA Subclass Rogue Acrobat. I wanna his first trait wich give me half my movement as "acrobatic" fly with need to land on solid place. So i wanna make my character to be able quick climb on some buildings to make him more like sniper.

Hope you're having fun with the character!
Edit: Also possible fun idea to play with:
