My favorite AL character I have made so far was my Arcane Archer. Loved it so much I actually did it twice with a different multi-builds. Arcane Trickster Archer which was a lot fun to fill the scout role using find familiar to look ahead, but also the clever infiltrator with mage hand legerdemain for picking locks, pockets and disabling traps.
Right now I am playing a Fire Genasi Rune Knight and if it gets published and becomes official it will take my top spot for sure. Incredibly versatile and really fun flavor.
My Bard died on the 3rd session and I spent a week making new characters for my DM to deny for various reasons... In the end I just gave up and went with the generic Fighter.
But man how surprised I was when I realized how cool the Battle Master is. I expected the most brain-dead playstyle but ended up having a ton of fun by controlling the battlefield with Maneuvers as well as a handful of other very useful Short-Rest abilities.
Our DM is rough, hopefully I don't die too fast... I'll hit level 9 next game and if I survive till level 11 (3rd Attack), I might consider Multiclassing for additional survivability.
Recently started to play an EK goliath fighter. Currently only at level 4 But im a juggernaut. Thanks to armor and a 20 AC i wasnt touched once in our last campaign. Even had a gnome wizard on my shoulders using my head for partial coverage, it was rather fun.
I'm having fun putting together a PDK, seems like a good choice for my idea. A leader able to help out his party in combat, emergency quick healing and temp HP.
They may not be as flashy as the Battlemaster, but boy howdy are Cavaliers awesome tanks. The Mark feature and Hold the Line are super powerful. Especially when you're the only beefy character in your party and you NEED to defend your allies. Plus you can always throw in Polearm master for some more attacks. You can basically become a defensive machine gun that mows down anything that gets close to your friends.
TLDR: I like it cause I get shout "I fight for my friends!" and then wail on any baddie in a 10ft radius. :D
I really like the customization of Battlemaster especially if they add more manuevers later. I know there are some in the UA. I really like the flavor of Samurai and the ability to gain advantage on your attacks at will is amazing.

I'm gonna pull for the Cavalier.
