So I was coming up with a fighter pc idea. And I finally went through the battle master, but I thought it was only melee based. Turns out it is also made for dex users AND that includes archers. Because this build is an archery focused fighter I was just gonna go champion instead but the battle master seems awesome. But there is one maneuver that I have a question about. Normally when an ability adds your ability scores modifier, say charisma it usually states minimum of 1. Which I take as even if you have say a -2 you will still add 1. But the battle master's "rally" maneuver says that you add your charisma modifier to the superiority die, nothing else. Well this character has 8 charisma. And I might even go for a 7 or 6 because I have played a character with 11 charisma AND IT'S SO ******* BORING. The few few few times I used a charisma based stat was so boring because I rolled like 9-11 and without any negatives or positives it's kind of a boring stat. (NOT that it's bad or anything **** no! I like charisma. But I told myself I either wanted to play a high charisma or a low charisma pc next time.) But back to the question (Sorry). Do I add the -1 (or possible -2) to the superiority die? Because it doesn't state a minimum. I probably wouldn't change my ability scores if it did give -1 hp. Because that gives me a 1 out of 8 (or 10) chance of wasting a superiority die. So I probably just wouldn't use it. It's a cool ability but it's not character breaking.
Thanks in advance! (FYI: I do have a set of scimitars for melee combat. So it's not because I only wanna use a bow. I do have another trick up my bag of holding.)

-Daergiel
it whatever your modifier is it doesn't state a minimum like you said and it doesnt give you option to not apply the modifier.
