So I'm just getting into DnD, Ive never played before but I listen to a lot of podcasts. Anyways I was hoping someone could help me clean up / finish my fighter character Asier (Ace-Sear) I've taken a few creative liberties that I hope my DM will be cool with. Feel free to change or make notes to anything save some key apects. I want the characer to be of the warforge race BUT appear totally human and have no idea where he comes from. Other than that I've added a few powers traits ect, I'm not totally sure they are allowed or even useful so I was hoping someone could help me kind of standardize this character as a warforge fighter / tank dps and help me fill out the rest in the best way.
Warforged have no skin. It feel like you want to play "an android, without being an android, but a human". I would ask if you are really committed to that race, or just want it for its abilities. How can he have no idea about his race, if he can compare himself to the humans all around him. He at least must be very confused, he is different. Don't invent bonus stuff for you to give you powerful abilities (like your Hellish Rebuke kind of Tattoo ability). Extra stuff comes with progressing your character, not because you want to start out very powerful from the beginning. That's part of the journey of your character.
If you want to keep that human appearance, why no go this route: Chose the "Envoy" type of Warforged and your speciality is Deception/Disguise kit. Unlike other Warforged, your face and hands are made of incredibly realistic ceramic, giving you the appearance of a male human (search for pictures of Ava from the Ex Machina movie or think about Ghost in a Shell). Your Integrated Protection ability does not only allow you to change the body structure, but also the appearance of the face to a minor degree. Whenever you reset using Sentriy's Rest, some strange markings appear on your face and hands looking like tattoos and your always wake up with the same face that seems to be your prime face, looking like that male human.
This still leaves you with plenty unknown things about your past (e.g. why was your body designed that way, making you unique among other Warforged), your "fighter mode" could have been some sort dormant program, that restarted itself after the attack on your village, making you wonder why you are a proficient fight all of a sudden. This leaves your DM plenty of room for your unknown past and purpose and also allows him to add extra abilities and features when you level up and discover more about your origin.
