Greetings I have decided to attempt my hand at a class guide, starting off with the supposed best class to start with. I'll be using the same system of scoring as @LordShadowThorn
This thread will be updated in single posts, please do not post in this thread until the end post where I will denote the end.
Gold is a must have, at least in my opinion.
Green is a very good ability, but could maybe be replaced with something else.
Blueis a solid choice, but there are perhaps better ones.
Black is just average.
Red is most likely useless, or almost useless.
Gray is something that is rarely useful, but can be surprisingly good in some situations.
A fighter is one of the most choice based classes allowing you to choose to become anything from an archer infusing magic into their attacks, a swordsman bolstering their attacks and defenses with arcane from the weave, to being a horse riding knight.
Pros:
Great Versatility allowing you to be able to choice almost any playstyle you want.
Great damage output being able to get a max of four attacks per action, combined with action surge you end up getting 8 attacks in one turn.
Decent Health, having a d10 sets them above most who use a d8.
Good self-sustainability being able to heal themselves as a bonus action for 1d10+Fighter Level
Cons:
Only gets one fighting style(Unless Champion archetype)
Thought to be a less interesting barbarian often.
Unused by some due to being thought as a bland class
You should choose a focus on either Dex or Strength depending on your build, your secondary should either be Constitution or Intelligence depending on archetype
Strength-Strength and Dexterity are practically interchangeable for fighters it depends on which archetype you're looking of going into.
Dexterity-While like strength, Dexterity is always a good modifier that I would advise to keep a +1 or +2 for the benefit to initiative and stealth
Constitution-Another modifier that's good for you no matter your archetype a +1 is always good for the bonus to health.
Wisdom-While a good ability unless you're wanting to multi-class into something like ranger or cleric it's mainly useful for perception/medicine.
Intelligence-If you're planning on running an Eldritch knight or Arcane archer build, this should be you secondary stat after strength/dexterity respectfully
Charisma-Another good ability although never really coming up as a main or secondary, could be good if you're wanting an intimidating/persuasive build
Become versatile in your own right.
