I was reading the astral self-monk from Tasha's Cauldron, and the subclass is just being a stand user from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Is this on purpose? Did Araki write the subclass? Why is Jojo References in D&D now? (as a huge fan of Jojo, i stan this subclass)

It likely is, but also probably is not exclusive to Jojo. It encompasses the fantasy of anything with a mystical extension of self. Likely, it also encompasses other pulp culture like Persona, Green Lanterns, Overwatch (Zenyatta), etc. Just a few guesses
