I was thinking of something similar but instead using an aasimar scourge, to where you can go super saiyan, glowing an intense brightness at lvl 3. I mean you could do the same thing with feather fall double classing as a sorcerer, to where your athletics and acrobatics are high because of the monk and you can just jump high and fall down very very very slowly. An aaracokra is always a great race because even if you weren't a monk, you could be a fighter arcane archer and do pretty much the same thing.
While its a solid idea, I will say this. Generally when your flying, you dont have access to alot of cover, so a DM may have ranged Enemies Focus fire on you. Since your a floating target, with a large surface area.
Also a Yellow Crested Cockatoo Aaracokra, would be a crazy sight to behold.

With his 65 feet fly speed, or 130 when using ki to Dash, he could use a “flyby” attack, entering cover after the attack. While moving above he is virtually imune to attacks of opportunity, could go to enemy back line strike and come back.

Good thought, but I don’t think falling slowly is the same thing as flying. A flying arcane archer is also interesting, but as a monk you have so much more mobility and options: catch the arrows the enemies throw, prevent damage from falling etc.
What do you think of this concept: An Aaracokra Monk who doesn’t need to land to attack the enemie?

It really does sound fun when you put it like that.
