Currently playing an astralself monk. I got lucky with my stat roll so in level 7 my wisdom is 20, dex 18, and con15. I know in level 8 i get an ASI but icant choose my mind. Should i boost my dex to 20 or should i take a feat like skill expert and make my con to 16? My party is small, 3 people including me and the other two are a fighter and a druid. Please give me advice to make a choice. If skill proficienies are also an info needed i am proficient with acrobatic, deception, insight, perception, persuasion, and stealth. Thank you very much
You’ll need a half-feat at some point. It just depends on whether you want a constitution boosting one (+2 dexterity) or a dexterity boosting one ( +1 dex, + 1 con). I mean, unless you know your campaign is ending at q certain level, you’ll need to take both a half feat and an ASI anyway.
My advice is to start looking at different feats that boost dexterity and constitution and see which ones you like best or come most recommended and go from there.
That's probably a good way to go, more fun, since your stats are pretty solid.
This page herehas the 2014 half-feats listed by their ability score boosts, if that helps (scroll down).
A heads up on Elven Accuracy: it can give you triple Advantage, but only if you have an easy way to get Advantage to trigger it.
On skills, your picks look pretty good! I find Investigation generally useful as well, even with low INT. Athletics would help you with grapples if you're attempting that; if not, it's probably redundant with Acrobatics. You could also see if there are any skills your group is missing that folks think would be useful? Perhaps the bigger and more exciting question is which skill to get expertise in, if taking Skill Expert? Can't go wrong with Perception, but I can see a case for Stealth or Persuasion, depending on your group and preferences.
Thank you for the link. After seeing some feats and by the help of replies i 90% chose my mind to take skill expert and expertise in perception and for getting proficiency i am thinking between sleight of hands and something like survival or investigation

I would incease Dexterity, it's such an important ability for Monk AC, Initiative. attack and damage rolls, ability checks, saving throws etc...
i am playing a half-elf criminal background

That all sounds good.
Either one at level 8 is solid: DEX to 20 then Skill Expert/CON to 16 at level 12 or the reverse. Cheers!
Thank you for the recommendations
