I currently have a level 3 Monk-Warrior of the Elements and I'm a little confused about the Elemental Attunement/Elemental Strike situation.
For my normal unarmed strikes, I have to roll 1d20+5 to attack.
For Elemental Strikes, it is reduced to 1d20+3.
So this raises the question, why isn't my proficiency included in the Elemental Strikes roll? It feels like an odd design choice not to include a proficiency bonus in a class feature.
That's gotta be a bug somewhere; everyone, Monk or not, is always proficient with unarmed strikes.
I have an Elements Monk character just like this and I'm seeing the correct number on my Unarmed Strike action. However, I also don't have a separate action for Elemental Strikes at all. Is it a custom action you've added? Are you running any browser extensions (e.g. Beyond20) that interact with stuff like that?

The unarmed strikes doesn't change except it now shows a 15 ft range. The action I'm talking about is under the "Other" section when you activate Elemental Attunement.
There are two abilities (for me):
Elemental Strikes which is the elemental attack that Way of the Elements is all about. However, instead of 1d20+5, it is 1d20+3.
This screen also shows the Uncanny Metabolism ability.
Oh, you're right. I do have that action under "other" and the number is wrong on mine too. Definitely a bug; it should have the same attack bonus as the regular Unarmed Strike, and it shouldn't be under "other" at all. I'd post it in the Bugs & Support forum.
I didn't even know that was there, I just always use the regular "Unarmed Strike" action.

It's a bug that's been documented since quite early on.
Since your elemental strikes are unarmed strikes, you can just keep using that.
