I have a V. Human Monk with 16's in both Dex and Wis. I was wondering what I should boost first? Also, should I boost one all the way to 20 or go back and forth?
Dex boosts your damage/chance to hit, initiative, and ac. Wisdom boosts DC of your abilities, a good save, and ac. I lean toward Dex on my monk.
Edit: what feat did you use from human, I've been getting lots of use from mobility, attacking to avoid attacks of opportunity instead of burning a ki to disengage
I also took the Mobile feat for that reason. The speed is nice, too. Do you think I should be putting Dex right to 20 or going Dex 18, then Wis 18?
Not sure honestly. I'd say at lvl 4 I'd go Dex, by lvl 8 you will have a good idea of how much you use abilities with saves (like stunning strike or subclass abilities) if you are happy with your save dc at lvl 8 max your dex, if not alternate.
I echo what Noksa is saying. At level 4 you'll probably want to put your ASI into dex to help with all the things previously listed. You may then want to boost wisdom at level 8 depending on how you play your monk. If you're using a lot of stunning strike or pick a subclass that has a lot of abilities that rely on that save DC, wisdom may be a better trade off. I think you'll have a better feel of what you need once you play for a few levels
Like Gavorn said, it depends on how your using it. If your mostly relying on flurry and returning projectile attacks focuson Dex. If your focused more on stunning strikes and such wisdom should come first. Getting both to 20 is good unless you have reason to take certain feats.
Max Dex first. I don't really feel like monks need any feats, including Mobile. You're fast enough without it.
Yea mobile isn't for the speed but for the not provoking opportunity attacks. Best part even if you miss every attack you still don't provoke the attacks.

What subclass are you going? Depending on that changes the answer.
I'm going with the Way of the Open Hand.
Eh, If you plan on shoving and knocking prone more reliably start wisdom. But i would alternate the ASI's

"The Epic Level Handbook wasn't that bad, guys.
Guys, pls."
Honestly, as a Monk, you take Mobile more for the no opportunity attacks from attacked enemies than the speed increase.
