(Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this question - I'm new.)
I'm playing a paladin on discord, using the Avrae bot. I have a counter for Channel Divinity. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to *use* Channel Divinity in a way that the bot will notice and change the counter. What am I missing?
If you use the !attack command on its own you'll get a list of everything that Avrae recognises as an "attack" for your character; really it's listing all the actions you can take. This should include any Channel Divinity powers you have.
You can either do !attack followed by the full name of the feature you want, or you can take advantage of the fact that Channel Divinity powers usually start with that term and do: !attack Channel Divinity This should give you a menu of your options, just enter the number corresponding to the one you want.
Activating the powers in this way should give you a summary of what they do, plus any relevant roll(s), and should also mark off a use of your Channel Divinity so you can't accidentally use more than you've got (remember to use !game shortrest or !game longrest when you rest in order to get them back).
You can also manually alter the value of any counters (such as Channel Divinity and similar) using a command like: !cc "Channel Divinity" mod -1 (swap for +1 to give a use back if you have a magic item or make a mistake).
Personally I made myself an alias to make this easier: !alias cd cc "Channel Divinity" mod This way I can simply do !cd -1 or !cd +1 whenever I need to adjust the value.
