so today I was poking around d&d beyond and decided I want to make a triton paladin with the oath of the open sea, however, I haven't any clue how I want to go about it, I know that I want her to focus on being able to fight sea monsters and such, starting with level 3 because why not, thoughts?
edit: I forgot to mention i want to use some sort of polearm or other piercing weapon if that matters
Use your channel divinity as much as possible, for you get to treat the heavily obscured area as lightly obscured. This means you get advantage on most things. Since you get advantage, you can use GWM to pump up big damage. While the channel divinity states that creatures within 5ft get that bonus as well, including other enemies, maybe using a polearm might be a good idea to keep things out of your buffed area.
