I'm building a character to apply for a game and while I'd initially planned her as a Bard I'm starting to think a Paladin might be an interesting change of pace. I do still envisage her as Chaotic Good though and someone who is fairly carefree and enjoys life - games of dice, drinking contests in taverns, romance and so on. I'm leaning towards making her a Paladin devoted to Tymora but I'm less certain on the Oaths since I've never played a Paladin before. To me Order of the Ancients looks closest but there is a druidic and fey focus that isn't especially close in theme.
Any advice more experienced Paladin players? Or should I look at another class for my Chaotic Good type?
That said, paladins don’t always have to follow gods. At least, by RAW, there’s some room to have your paladin follow a god, or just draw their power from their oath. That opens up many options for you, where your oath can be whichever you like, and what powers you. Another aspect of your personality is that you are religious, and a follower of Tymora, or whoever. You don’t have to have mechanical impacts from being a religious character, you can just be religious, and also have a class. Just how, irl, there’s lots of religious people who are not clergy. It’s just a part of their life and personality. So be a paladin, who is religious, but don’t derive power from that religion. It could actually be an unusual spin on a pally.
That said, maybe oath of glory? Of all the oaths, probably they’re the most fun at parties. Though ancients could work, too.

First, there’s always trickery cleric.

I'd say Oath of Glory or Oath of Conquest could be a fit.
Oath Of Glory definitely feels like it would fit best with Tymora.
