Personally I think the Glaive is better just because of the versatility and effect available for every situation. That being said they are both very rare items, so getting one is going to be hard, and is usually (at least in most games I've played) reserved till at least 10th level (for some of the weaker options). And a DM may not even approve of HB. But they look like pretty cool weapons nontheless

Farmer's adapted sickles and scythes into glaives because they are better martial weapons, so go with glaive. Scythes and sickles are designed for farming, not combat.
They aren't rare if someone can adapt one from a scythe blade. That's what farmers used to do. I would also expect them to be available in cities since many soldiers commonly use pole arms, especially vs mounted enemies or to strike first (because of range).
