Dragonborn, Oath of Devotion Paladin, Noble background. The youngest scion of a minor noble dragonborn clan, he was raised with tales told by his great grandmother of their once proud and honourable clan.
Yet, as he grew into adulthood he became increasingly disappointed at how his clan now chases wealth and power at the espense of all else, including innocents. What is more galling is that the clan currently barely counts among the nobility despite their shadow and shady dealings of dubious legality. They have lowered themselves with no reward.
One morning he walked from his home, armour donned, weapon in hand intending to return honour and standing to his clan's name, his Devotion to his clan, clear despite what they may think.
Any suggestions on reflavouring the Tennets of Devotion to better fit this theme?
Do you need to? At least to my eye they seem to fit pretty well already.
Honesty. Rebelling against the clan's shady dealings seems in line with this?
Courage. Failing to help others/being selfish again seems like part of why he felt the need to leave?
Compassion. Kind of ties in with the tenet of courage but is also more a general philosophy.
Honor. Again seems reasonable, though you might rephrase it slightly to include restoring honour to the clan?
Duty. This is another one you could maybe tweak to reflect the clan if you wanted?
Personally though I think they fit your character as-is, but you might reflect how the tenets apply to his clan in your bonds/personal motivations, i.e- you have sworn the oath of devotion, and also to restore honour to your clan.

So here's the premise...
