Hello, i have a question about the alignment, is it still locked to loyal good or is it possible to pick another one ? I'm interested to make a more nature related paladin, maybe with druid multiclassing, i have seen the oath of ancient is already in that theme, but not enough to my liking, anyway if there possibility to do something, i would like to know, thanks in advance.
- Paladins, per the book, are not locked to alignment anymore. You can be any alignment, even if LG is the "D&D historical picture of a Paladin". What you do have in place of alignment is the paladin's Oath (Tenets) that every subclass receives, the rest is RP related differences to not be just a fighter with casting, but a "devout warrior or blessed champion".
- But clarify and talk things with your DM too. He may have a different opinion about how to play with alignments and paladins in his campaign.
Ok, thank you, i've tought to a neutral or neutral good alignement, the oath of ancient sound like it's related to Nature to me, the idea was to make a Demi drow paladin who worship Eilistraee.
You may select any alignment unless the DM's campaign limits alignment for player characters. There is exception such as the Oathbreaker Paladin which must be evil but it's part of a Villainous Options with DM's approval.

Paladins can be any alignment. They must simply follow the tenets of their oath.
Ok thank you, it's a while i've take a loot to that class, in fact from the 3.5 and back then they were stuck into Loyal good .

Ok, thank you very much.
There's typically some alignment suggestions in the description for each Oath, but they're not hard requirements.

Ok, thanks for the clarifying it.
