The biggest thing is to talk to your DM about the wild magic sorcerer. They can be very unsatisfying. I’m playing in two different groups with wild magic sorcerers right now. Across a combined 50 sessions of play, there’s been only 1 wild magic surge. And we have a house rule that has them both rolling for it a lot. I mean, they still get to use other class features which are pretty cool. Just don’t expect many rolls on the chart.
Beyond that is the general sorcadin stuff, you get more spell slots for smiting, but you delay your second attack and your auras, so just decide which is more important to you and your group.
Any tips? I was thinking my character could constantly be trying to control the magic.

We are only playing with the phb so no divine soul for me.
