Cantrip Ideas for My Paladin-Warlock

Hello I'm playing Descent into Avernus and I am a level eight white dragonborn glory paladin, and I'm not sure which Warlock cantrips to choose when I choose Warlock next level. I will then be going one more level of warlock finishing paladin off for level 11, and then warlock 9. So my endplan is Paladin 11 Warlock 9.

Any ideas?

You could probably drop your range weapons and get eldritch blast.  Get an invocation that allows you to add the CHA bonus.

Prestidigitation is good for the RP aspect vice combat.

I was thinking of taking EB anyway and take agonizing blast.

In my party I have a life cleric, a celestial warlock who is chaotic evil (Kill later), and a kobold battle master fighter 5 vengeance paladin 3.

I am going to take Pact of the chain as my first invocation, then at 2nd level I will take Pact of the blade and agonizing blast.

I am definitely melee focused, I have a holy avenger greatsword and a belt of fire giant str.

If you have a Belt of Fire Giant Strength and a Holy Avenger, why are you going Warlock? What are you hoping to get out of it? Is it just for Pact of the Chain, so you can have a little cousin? 

true strike gives you smite opprotunity, bonus damage, and combos. I personally love true strike a bit too much but that's who I am. toll the dead is great as it is a wis save for d12s of damage, and if you are a warlock you must have eldritch blast. the class is kind of built around it.

Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but what exactly to you hope to get at paladin level 11 and warlock level 9? Those off-hand seem like odd places to stop leveling at.

i’m still learning myself, so I don’t want to say anything wrong, but with the items you have I would stick with Paladin at this point. The consensus I’ve gotten for best Paladin Warlock splits are 6/14 and my personal favorite 1/19.

Again, why do you want to go warlock now? If you are looking for a cantrip to do damage I’d instead stick to javelins. Most of the others are circumstantial at this point. If you’d rather wait feel you NEED a cantrip, that depends on which eldritch invocations you are choosing. If you’d rather wait want to skip the ones for eldritch blast, go toll of the dead. If you’d rather wait want those extra features stick with eldritch blast. Taking two levels of warlock now like you are planning would be enough for agonizing blast, so eldritch blast I suppose would fit the most.

It’s up to you. Just remember if you do to go to the first of your character pages and set it to public.

Because this is a max damage build and with paladin i get radiant strikes at level 11 and with warlock i can get lifedrinker as an eldritch invocation.

Interesting. Well, it sounds like you’ve definitely put some thought into it. It will take until level 20 to come online completely. I’m a little bit surprised you don’t want to just go yo paladin level 11 to achieve that half of the goal as soon as possible, but I digress.

 If you want power in one strike, make it a true strike. agonizing blast, and celestial warlock begins to add up. espcially because your cha will be 5. 5d6+2d8+15 is very good. then go metamagic adept, for doing it twice, and now you have great shinnagains.
