I have had a Paladin over the last 5 years, progressing slowly to 9th class (inconsistent game play schedules slow overall game time). I took the Guide as a Background for the Paladin, which grants Magic Initiate (Druid) and 3 ability scores. I selected Cantrips and chose the spell Cure Wounds. As I advanced, instead of ability scores, I took the Fey Touch feat to get Misty Step. When I was lower than 6 levels, on my spell list, I would have Use Cure Wounds and a Cast. Cure Wounds option, and for Misty Step, I would have Use Misty Step and Cast Misty Step. But now I only have the one-time Use Cure Wounds and Use Misty Step. No options to cast them.
If I instead take the Magic Initiate (Druid) and the Fey Touched feat using the Manage Feats function (after removing these feats from the character setup), I get back to the old ability to both Use and Cast both Cure Wounds and Misty Step. So the feats selected outside the Manage Character process work, but when taken as part of progression, they do not work. I contacted support a while back and was told I should be able to both cast and use the spells. I now have 13 spell slots, and no matter how I work on spell selection, I do not get the ability to both Use and Cast.
I have found postings on related issues, but not where any feat selected within the manage levels/progress process does not fully work.
Anyone else encoutering this type of issue and how you worked around it
I think I have figured out what happened. The 2014 and 2024 PHB have different rules for Feat spells. The game started with 2014 but the 2024 was shared and became standard and then the person sharing the 2024 stopped sharing, so the feat seems to have reverted to original 2014 rules?

Sounds about right. Without access to the current PHB, your character would revert to using the older version of the content.
