What would you suggest are some good feats to have for a level 8 high elf paladin? I already have heavy armor master. I was thinking of feats with a charisma boost that also fits an elf like Elven Accuracy, but I don't have many attack role options till later, a lot of the spells are support roles.
I am also considering boosting my charisma stats to better help the party. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Boost your Charisma to get a higher modifier, it will make your aura of protection better... and since it affects saving throws, I'm guessing it also affects death saving throws.
Plus there may be other things that rely on your CHA modifier... if any of your spells have a save DC then that will also improve.
CHA also boost Save DCs of channel divinity if they have one.
If you only need 1 point in CHA to raise the modifier and don't need the other point for STR or CON, then the feats that +1 CHA are: actor, elven accuracy, and fey teleportation.

Elven accuracy is pretty good. It would increase your charisma by 1, but only allows you to re-roll when you have advantage on DEX, INT, WIS, and CHA attacks (which isn't very common from my experience). If you're a melee fighter, you don't get that benefit. I would either do fey teleportation to get misty step and use it without expending a spell slot and get the +1 to CHA, or just take the +2 to CHA.

If you are a melee fighter who uses Dex to attack (using finesse weapons like a rapier and such), or using Chr (like a Hexblade multiclass) then you get the benefit...
without having the full character idea in mind I have a couple thoughts
shield master lets you into the bonus action economy, and it is so theatrical to super impose your shield on a DeX save attack!
mage slayer and defensive dualist both give you some reaction options and survivability. I am assuming the afore mentioned rapier for defensive dualist but I want to mention that heavy armour and DeX based attack rolls don't synergize that well.
What is your weapon loadout? If you're using two-handed weapons, then Great Weapon Master is a good candidate, but a better one is Polearm Master. PAM is awesome even if you use a one-handed weapon & shield as it works with a Spear & Quarterstaff too.
Sentinel is always a good feat for Paladin, and becomes even more powerful if you have PAM too.
If you're sticking with one-handed weapons, I highly recommend a single level of Warlock (Hexblade). Charisma is now your main stat for weapon attacks and spells. Take Elven Accuracy. Profit.

You don't know what fear is until you've witnessed a drunk bird divebombing you while carrying a screaming Kobold throwing fire anywhere and everywhere.
I've always thought paladins are too MAD to take many or even any feats, I would tend to just use ASI to boost Cha, Str, Dex or Con which depends on your build and current stats. If you have an odd Cha with all your other main abilities even so you have a "free" half feat rather than getting elven accuracy I would think it better to put a point in Cha and a point in Con and then taking resilient con.
