I recently learned how to manage your companion/beasts under the extra portion of the character sheet. What I can not find is the drake companion from the ranger archetype. Is there a way to build in a custom one or add the drake companion? Any help would be appreciated.
I think its stat block is under features not extras.
However, I think dnd beyond's worst "offence" is animal companions management. if For something that was part of the core system it feels long over due. And if they had a good foundation implementing tasha's and fizbans would have been alot easier.

It's a significant weakness of the DDB character sheet, and something they've handled quite poorly especially with the load of new summoning spells in Tasha's Cauldron.
The only way to have a proper monster stat block is to use the homebrew tools to create a "point in time" version of the companion for your current level, and then periodically update it as you gain levels (and your proficiency bonus increases, new features are unlocked etc.).
They've tried to hack around it by adding the drake as a feature/action and using "limited uses" for tracking its hit points, but this is a really clunky way to solve a problem that shouldn't exist; we just need a way to mark specific certain stats on monster profiles as inheriting values from the character sheet they're added to (under Extras), but no sign of that yet.
Gets even more annoying if you want to use it on Avrae as you have to also create the monster block yourself in CritterDB (because why would it use monsters from DDB, right?) before you can add it and roll for it. Very annoying!
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.

I haven't either.. even Avrae had to homebrew a critter.
Itinerant Deputy Shire-reave Tomas Burrfoot - world walker, Raft-captain, speaker to his dead
Toddy Shelfungus- Rider of the Order of Ill Luck, Speaker to Friends of Friends, and Horribly big nosed
Jarl Archi of Jenisis Glade Fee- Noble Knight of the Dragonborn Goldcrest Clan, Sorcerer of the Noble Investigator;y; Knightly order of the Wolfhound
