A few suggestions: Make hunders mark a at-will bonus action non-magical ability. It basically is described as one, so why it is magical I dont know. Call it "predators focus" or something.
Give the class +1d6 damage with that ability every time you would normally get a high level spell and call it a day :)
I have been working to create this exact class (the UA version of the revised Ranger with the 'Spell-less' replacements) in TOS FIVE, and I also hit the 'Call Natural Allies' issue!
Did you ever figure out a good replacement for that?
I am thinking perhaps replace the 13th level "Call Natural Allies" by the Fighter's 10th level ability "Improved Combat Superiority"... and define it like this:
IMPROVED COMBAT SUPERIORITY At 12th level, your superiority dice turn into d1Os, At 20th level, they turn into d12s,
This would make it exactly 2 levels 'behind' the Fighter... What do you think?
I just rolled a revisedspell-less ranger (Deep Stalker) for Out of the abyss. Overall i think it will be a fun build for the campaign.
I was curious to find out if anyone else had ideas on replacing a few of the abilities that would make it feel more martial as the spell less option was intended
Examples:
Call Natural Allies seems a bit clunky - I would much rather see some other utility or Superiority Dice increased in die size
Deep Stalker Magic - What would be the recommended replacement here?
I also prefer my ranger spell-less.
