So the wording of Barrage and Volley both state they produce non-magical duplicates of the weapon used as the material component.
My question, is if you coated your weapon in poison, since poison is non-magical, would that copy over as well? I know neither spell states an exact amount of how many duplicates (barrage only saying a cone whereas volley says 'hundreds') but I was curious if some extra damage would carry.
Like XdX of poison damage(whatever the base damage of the poison used) times however many d8 (since most weapons only use 1dX for their base damage)
Poison gets applied to a weapon, it doesn't become an inherent part of the weapon. I think most DMs would rule that using it with Conjure Barrage or Volley would essentially dilute it, or just not carry over to the new weapons. They might let you get away with it once, to reward creative thinking, but I'd think they'd disallow it if you tried to use it a lot. Either way, it's really up to the DM.
