Anyone have suggestions for good feats for rangers to take?
I'm playing a Drakewarden ranger who's about to hit level 4 and I've got an odd number for my wisdom (17). As such, I'd rather take a feat than an ASI, but I was wondering which to choose from? Was hoping to avoid Fey Touched and Shadow Touched since they're both a little too useful and I'd rather do something different with this character.
Since I'm a Drakewarden and my bonus action is going toward running my drake, I avoided going with two-weapon style and instead went dueling to fight with shortsword and shield.

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
yes Fey and Shadow touched are great and probably the right choice. If you are trying to round off your wisdom here are some thoughts:
1. Resilient Wisdom. Boring simple and powerful. With the +1 you would go from a +2 save to a +6. The main problem here is its not as every turn/every day useful as other choices.
2. Chef. Rounds off the wisdom. Make treatos to feed to your pet for Temp HP. If you don't have a good temp hp source in your party this, while not a great one, is OK. Also just a really good character based feat. Be the camp cook.
3. Observant. Always good to push those passive perception/investigation skills through the roof.
Telekinetic would be a good option, but you already have a solid bonus action. Telepathic is OK, but is probably not your best choice. Skill expert is good and worth considering if there is a skill you really, really want and one you want expertised. Gift of the gem dragon gives you an OK reaction but I am not sure I would take it over any of the 3 listed above.
I use Fey/Shadow on a lot of characters, which is why I'm trying to not use them now. Resilient Wis was my first alternate choice. Was looking to see if there was any other things I hadn't considered.

Split ASI: Are any of your other stats odd? Unless there is another half feat you want if either Con or Dex are odd I would take the ASI and boost oth stats up
Skill Expert: If you DM tends to call active perception checks you want this rather than observent, if you do a lot of scouting you might want expertise in stealth
I would also plan ahead.
Do you plan on relying on concentration spells? Having a drake and a summoned creature (summon beast from level 5) alongside you can work really well but you probably want something to help keep your concentration. You can either boost your wis with a split ASI and take resiliant con at level 8 or do it the other way round.
Are you likely to want a feat like piercer prepare for it now my splitting your ASI bewtween wis and Dex.
As an aside are you using a shortsword for backstory reasons? As a sword and board ranger a rapier would increase your damage.
There's only a 1 point average difference in damage between a d6 and a d8, and story-wise my character is from the lower class while rapiers are typically only found among nobility in the setting. As far as dex goes, I've got a 20 already (stats were rolled, and my character's stats aren't even the best in the party). Wisdom was the only odd number I had.

alert, sentinel and sharpshooter and maybe something with armor. btw, for the weapons a combination between spear and bow always works, so don’t worry about melee/ranged. ever thought about scimitar and lance as melee weapons, so you can utilise dex and reach and that way you also can go full horse archer on your drake(bow, lance, shield and scimitar).but back to the feats, alert is always nice, sentinel and armor improvements will strengthen the defensive sword and shield combo and sharpshooter allows you to shoot the enemy before you fight them.
btween this post and your last other nothing with rapiers or fey or shadow touched is said and the ones that were said were:sharpshooter, skilled, alert ans sentinel, nothing you said someone about it

My goal is to get my wisdom to an even number. Consequently, any feat that does not accomplish that is not a useful feat.

Well let's look at the options for feats that give a +1 Wis. I'll skip the ones with other feats as pre-reqs, if you were looking at those you'd have been planning for them already, as well as the two "-Touched" feats you said you wanted to avoid.
Chef: flavorful(no pun intended), not sure how powerful it is but could make for some fun RP
Elven Accuracy: If you meet the racial pre-req, it could be quite solid. If you're a melee fighter and your group uses the flanking rules, you should be able to gain that super-advantage quite often
Gift Of The Gem Dragon: Solid for a melee fighter, and on-brand for a Drakewarden.
Observant: Assuming your DM pays attention to Passive Perception scores, this could be extremely helpful. You're PP will be in the 20's with this, not much should escape your notice.
Resilient(Wis): When in doubt, take this one. Wisdom saves are quite common, and failing them in combat usually SUCKS. I have never regretted having a really good Wisdom save bonus.
Skill Expert: Good for boosting something like Perception, Stealth or Survival, probably wouldn't be my first choice though.
Telekinetic: It does use your Bonus Action which is not great for a Drakewarden, but you can use it on an ally to move them away from an enemy without drawing an Opportunity Attack, plus Mage Hand is always fun.
Telepathic: If you're the sneak of your group, it'll be easier to scout ahead and report back to the group, and Detect Thoughts has some fun RP potential
Unless you've got some specific design goals in mind for your Ranger, my gut says go with Resilient(Wis) even though it might seem the boring choice. It's likely the one you'll most frequently benefit from, especially in later levels. If you've already got a Dex of 20, you could take 3 straight feats at 4/8/12, in which case you could take three Wis+1 feats to get it to 20 as well. If that's the case, I'd probably start with Elven Accuracy or Observant and take Resilient(Wis) at 8 or 12, when your Proficiency Bonus is higher.

Gift of the gem dragon is pretty solid.
Skilled, and sharpshooter
DM: “Who’s your patron?”
Warlock: “Ummm”
DM: “Hurry Up”
Warlock: “yOu”

Sharpshooter, probably one of the best ranger feats in my opinion

Some wisdom feats: resilience, gift of gem dragon, skill expert. I don't use telekinetic and telepathic but you could look at them.
