So under the new rules for a Beast Companion you magically summon it and if it dies you can rez it within the hour and it comes back with full hp after about a min.
In the past when my boar companion would die in combat as a way to honor it I would cook it and serve it up to the rest of the party, (any leftovers going to the local orphanage) its strength feeding back into the unit so to speak.
Lets say you neglected to rez it within that hour, does it poof? Is the corpse still there?
This is the burning question on the minds of hungry orphan children across the realms.

Reading this line: If you already have a beast from this feature, the old one vanishes when the new one appears.
I’d say the body stays there until you summon a new beast.
Right on, that is what I thought also, just looking for some clarification, though now I wonder if you would suddenly get hungry.
Well, in the end pretty much everything comes down to a DM ruling, so I’d guess just talk with them about it.
