Hi all. This is my first post on D&Dbeyond. I am in a home campaign and all is going pretty well, but lately I feel my character had been in a rut. So I'm looking to multi class.
I am playing the UA Ranger Revised. My subclass is Horizon Walker, which according to the DM is supposed to fit perfectly with this campaign, which is great!! But as of yet I feel like I'm just the token tracker or as a fellow PC puts it the "pretty boy elf". My stats and race are as below.
Race: Eladrin (great fun to RP with especially when his personality shifts)
Class/Level: Level 4 Horizon Walker Revised Ranger (the dm told me to use UA ranger because one of the Devs apparently HATES the ranger class)
Stats (Rolled)/ASI:
STRENGTH - 11
DEXTERITY - 20
CONSTITUTION - 12
INTELLIGENCE - 12
WISDOM - 14
CHARISMA - 8
My fighting style is Dueling, so I am in the front lines of the party along side an orc fighter/undying lock and sometimes a two weapon fighter/sorceror.
Given my rolls, I can not multiclass into a lot of the classes, and I'd like not to step on the toes of the fighter so I'd like to stay away from that class. Which leaves me with the ability to MC into either a Druid - Cleric - or Rogue. Of the 3 classes I have some inputs I just need a little guidance.
Druid - I was thinking either Shepard or Moon and it would fit thematically during to a PC who was a druid died in front of my character because he was to afraid to take the front lines because he had never fought humans before.
Cleric - I was thinking Tempest and honestly that was the only thought for additional healing but honestly i love the storm cleric and it fits thematically because my character blames himself for the death of his druid ally who was a PC. And also i am a far Traveler with proficiency in Sea and Air vehicles and longs to be out to sea with other back story tie ins (and I mean max damage on lightning/thunder spell? Also you hit me you'll get fried!!)
Rogue - Expertise - thieves tools - Evasion -and Sneak Attack. Enough said. But I dont know what subclass (Definitely not thief arcane trickster or assasin)
So if anyone can help me on this decision that would be Wonderful!! Also I was thinking about taking Elven Accuracy as a feat at some point.
I think backstory wise it’d be interesting to be a cleric after watching your friend die. Becoming a Druid in honor of him or her is also pretty cool, but the desire to not let any more of your friends die is what drives cleric to number one pick for me. Have you looked at Nature domain as an option? That can be in honor of your Druid friend, or maybe your friend’s god reaches out to you and you become that god’s cleric (unless you have one already).

Scout might be a good subclass for a dip into Rogue from Ranger.
Just my 2cp.

I just like a good story. Need there be any other reason?
