What constitutes a different creature?
Can I switch it from creature to creature as a bonus action?
As a player, how do I best interpret the last part?
Different creature = anything with different set of hitpoints. Each human is a different creature.
Yes you can switch as a bonus action.
If you designate Paul, then next round Designate Mary, the Slayers Prey on Paul ends, but Mary just begins.
