So I just hit Lvl3 on my Ranger multi-class and got the Archetype feature. My character is Lvl10 total (Rouge 7/Ranger 3) and early on I somehow managed to tame a Death Dog and he's been my mount/pet/sidekick since. When I hit Ranger 3 I was gonna take the Beast Master Archetype to coincide with this addition to my character, but then I saw there's a "Monster Tamer" archetype which is MUCH more appropriate!
My questions are:
- where did this come from? Nothing shows when I do a search in all of DnD Beyond (and my party has access to all materials)
- has anyone used this? What do you think?
- Any idea where I could read more on this or get background info for my DM?

That is not an official Wizards of the Coast subclass. You may have been looking at homebrew or another site such as Dmsguild. Check if https://www.dndbeyond.com/subclasses/45023-monster-tamer
is what you are looking for.
Also are you sure you didn't misread Monster Slayer for Monster Tamer?
