Hi there, I’m relatively new and have a quick question. Under the description for tireless, it says you can use an action to get these temporary hit points. Does it have to be during battle or can you do it outside of battle too? This could potentially mean you could add temporary hit points each morning? Also, could you use more than one at a time, or would you have to wait until the original temporary hit points were reduced before doing it again? Thanks!!
I don't see any reason it can't be used outside of battle unless your DM explicitly rules otherwise. Temporary HP also doesn't stack, you would have to wait until your current set of points run out. Also, if two different effects with Temp HP are placed on you, they still do not stack and you take whichever is higher.
Only one issue with this answer. You don't have to take the higher amount. Sometimes temp hp come with rider effects, so if the additional effect is good enough you may want to take the lower amount, and you can do that.
I think is not necessary to take the lower one if it have riders (unless the description is extremely specific), you should be able to take all the effects for the features/spells that gives you Temp Hp, but the pool of Temporary Hp wont stack, only taking the higher value, since you are still a beneficiary of the features/spell.
At least that's how I understand it.
I think the only effect that could cause something would be the World Tree Barbarians (2024) (or a 3rd party one I don't remember) feature that gives temp hp to others until your rage ends, that could have a condition to evaluate if you already have temp hp from another source and take them or not. But still the DM could rule in your favor or not (when the rage ends you keep your older temp hp if you still have them and the barbs where bigger...)
But normally you would take the bigger number always, and now the barbarians can mantain the rage for a longer period without problems you won't be as affected.

I could be wrong though.
