So I wanna use all if not most stereotypes for rogue and flip them on their head.
First example. He sit in. Dark corner alone and silent. Realistically he shy and has a stutter he's embarrassed about. They remain silent most times and may have accidental intimidation profency cause funny and bucks the trend. I also want to stay away from theif, assassin. And swashbuckler. Hell what other class can I disguise as a rogue instead of being the rogue.
I believe they typically don’t have parents because they either are orphans because their parents were killed, or abandoned them not long after their birth.
I'm a fan of Mastermind if you're going for an atypical Rogue without Swashbuckler; they thrive on scheming and working with others, which means they're probably a lot more sociable than your typical brooding thief. I also like the idea of an Arcane Trickster as a street magician type; using Sleight of Hand coupled with minor illusion or similar to both impress, and rob blind, their marks while hiding in plain sight all the while.
