Is there a way (or need) to buff tools that would make the fast hands feature more useful and engaging? I feel as if they're very limited either by money or just the small amount of combat oriented tools that are out there. If anyone has good resources for something like this or can shed some light on something I may be missing please do! Thanks in advance.
If this is Eberron or similar magi-tech setting, see if your DM would allow you to buy a grappling gun. Useful for exploration, sure, but could also be used offensively. See Attack on Titan for good examples for how to use one creatively.
Also nets, metal traps used to catch game, and simple portable machines could all be useful, too.
I read someone suggest using a sleigh of hand check to steal a spellcaster's arcane focus or components pouch. I'm tempted to give that a shot in a future game.

There are some homebrews your DM can engage in to make Thief suck less:
1) Make vials and flasks ranged weapons, so you can legally Sneak Attack with them.
2) Make Thieves proficient in improvised weapons.
These are actually great suggestions thank you!
