I’m making a character for a ravenloft campaign, but I’m wondering how to multi class to get best skills with my class. We’re starting at 3rd level, so I have all levels in phantom rogue. My race is deep gnome, and my stats go in order of high dex wis char int con str.
I was thinking grave cleric could work well, but gloom stalker could also be a valid choice. Is there anything I’m overlooking for choosing either class?
When you say "to get best skills with my class", do you mean that you want to be proficient with lots of skills? If so bard is a great choice, due to the expertise and jack of all trades.
If not im not really sure what you mean, could you provide some more detail please?

I guess I should have said my role in the party which is damage dealer. My party doesn’t have a whole lot of damage output so I want to try and step up and fill that with multi class.
Phantom Rogue is one of those subclasses that it's really painful to MC dip, because of the 1/2 sneak dice (rounded down) for that ''AE'' sneak attack to 1 extra target. The more you MC, the less sneak dice you have, halved, rounded down. Having said that, I think Gloomstalker Ranger is thematically a solid choice, as well as very strong combo. The wis mod bonus to your initiative to help go early in combat, the extra expertise is nice, multi attack if you go 5+, dread ambusher features -- the chasse is solid overall. IF you do not go 5+ to get the multi attack, I strongly recommend finding a way to get booming blade, and dual wield for the better odds of landing an attack each round.
3 level rogue/Assassin to Gloom stalker...massive 1st round possible. Stay ranger the rest of the way. 1st round could include 2d6 back stab, 1d8 dread ambusher(dread ambusher vonus attack as well), 1d6 huntersmark. Invisible to dark vission, a high stealth for not being heard/seen, super usefull spells etc...

Wails from the Grave is 1/2 sneak dice rounded up.
Missed that, thanks. I don't think it materially changes my advice but good catch.
