So I had the concept of a rogue based on trapping/stunning enemies with traps and contraptions. Doing things like Pitfalls, tripwires, and Nets. Then when te enemy is restrained/blinded/whatever, they sneak attack em. If yall have any ideas, I'd love to hear them!

I love hamburger and coca cola and video games and rock music and 80s-90s new wave, and dnd and DELTARUNE and pizza tower and leather jackets and green and keytar and robots and sci fi books and movies and always sunny in philidelphia and bloodhound gang and Devo and wario and bugs and sludge and grease and goblins and rogues and bards and warlocks and monks and saying and
Outside of your own home how practical is any of this?
Traps are basically stationary. You have to have the trap created, disguise it so the enemy does not know it is there, then wait for the enemy to enter the trap zone and trigger it?
If you have trapped the enemy, why do you need to sneak attack?
What happens if the enemy is an entourage of beings? Traps just can't capture multiples of beings.

I mean you could base it off of the crafting aspect in general, and one of the things you craft could be traps?? Kinda like a mix of Artificer and rogue ig?

I think you are not understanding how a trap works.
A trap is stationary. You have to have the enemy approach the trap. You have to be in front of the enemy. Not 100% of the time but pretty close, you have the enemy walk into the trap. For those reasons you can't go on the offense with a trap.
So I have done this before with other classes, the rogues focus on sneak attack makes it more difficult. Instead of "placing" your traps you merely state that the opponent stumbled into one of your traps forcing them to make a save. It is just like casting a spell, you can make them reactions.

To my knowledge and experience, only a DM can say that. If it/target stumbles into a trap, that means you have to have the trap all ready located there and camouflaged before they/target arrive. What happens if the DM allows the target to never stumble into a trap?
Not sure how good setting traps would be as a party adventure campaign.
