Does anyone remember the amazing Assassin class from 4e? For those who don't, it was like having a rogue possessed by the Raven Queen and used Shadow Magic in addition to sneak attacks.
Does anyone know of a way to re-create this type of class? Thinking the closest may be to multi-class with a warlock, monk, or mystic.

Characters:
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
What about the Soul Knife Mystic multi-classed in for a bit more flare?

I've been experimenting with this idea for a few months now. so far, I feel like Rogue(12)/Mystic(1:mastery of light and darkness)/Monk(6:shadow monk)/something else(1).
Lol how about a build that doesn't take a near-epic character that has at least 3 walls of their home adorned with dragon/giant skulls?

Monk. Shadow tradition.
You have at-will teleportation. Maybe warlock multiclass with devil sight. Rogue is not needed in the mix.

This is a port that did long time ago. Still use it on a ongoing adventure
