I've seen posts like this before. The simple answer is: every class has equal potential to make it to level 20, but few campaigns have made it that far.
My Aarakocra Inquisitor Rogue is getting there. We started at level 1, and are playing a game designed to go all the way to level 20. She's level 12 right now, and unless the story gives her some very strong reason to she will continue to mainline Rogue all the way to 20.
10d6 sneak attack, plus another 3d6 from Eye for Weakness? I'm already collecting d6 to use for that moment!

Your dice tower will look like a minigolf course when a kid decides to pour the golfball container down the windmill.

Read the first chapters. Feel free to critique. Will link the next chapters at the end of the first. Two stories running so far.
Level 11 ranger doing about 42-60 damage per turn. Overall pretty nice especially with an animal companion (using house rules it has its own turns instead of taking up rangers turn)
I have a Level 18 Arcane Trickster rogue. I started at Level 1 about 3 years ago and we've played through Hoard of the Dragon Queen and now Rise of Tiamat. My DM has added a few additional modules and we will eventually make it to Level 20. We all decided if we stuck with it this long, we wanted to see what it was like to play Level 20 characters. My minimum Stealth roll is currently a 27 and there are very few traps I can't find. I also have a separate bag of dice for Sneak Attack. It is really a thrill.

Has anyone seen, or heard of, a rogue reaching tier 4 after starting from level 1?
