I recently noticed that there were not any threads about assassins that needs to change. In this thread you can post your best moments as a assassin mine was when I killed the final boss before they got to take a turn, my dm was ripping there hair out :)

The 6 most hated words in all of d&d history: make me a dex saving throw .
The best assassin moment in my experience, was the assassin rolled a modified 23 stealth to surprise, and I, a life cleric in heavy armor rolled a 13 stealth, and the enemy was not surprised.
The assassin still got to dash in and sneak attack which dropped tge enemy to under half HP in one turn. After that enemy's turn I finished him off, then healed the assassin. We were barely level 3, the assassin stopped playing with us a few sessions later.
The funny thing about surprise is the whole party has to be stealthy for it to work...
My best moment was when an enemy qourier was fleeing on a speedy horse at a critical point, about to let the whole world know we infiltrated their camp. As a wood-elf ranger I ran of to in the direction of a nearby intersection making a shortcut through a woody area, and with a one-shot opportunity with my longbow I critted the poor bastard right down from his horse. The group didn't know where I was to begin with, and so the hero returned riding a new qourier's horse.
I was playing an Ancient Greek themed game where I played a Manticore man (reflavored Green Dragonborn) assassin. The party came up with a scheme to convince a lady to marry a satyr (long story). Hashintorix (my assassin), used his disguise kit to disguise himself as a semi-normal human and, with help from the ranger who had prestidigitation, convinced that he was sent by the gods to have her marry this thing. LAter, we figured out that it was actually *not* a good idea for the lady to marry the satyr, so Hash broke into her house again, this time without make up, and told her to call the wedding off.
I miss that character. He was a Persian James Bond who was a devout Zoroastrian who just happened to be slowly turning into a weird poison lion monster.
I had a Half-Elf named Whisper who attempted to disguise as a famous Bard to infiltrate a festival in a small town to kill the corrupt Mayor. Drunk Mayor fell in love with her somehow, and I spectacularly failed an intimidation check to the point where he thought she was 'too cute' to get away from him. What was supposed to be a simple in-and-out job turned into her going home with him, listening to his "Tales of Heroism" about his youth and once the guards got sent away for him to try and make things a little more intimate with her, she forced him to drink more and more until he passed out and... then just drowned him in his bath tub, fully clothed and all. DM looked shocked but also impressed so I count it as a win.
