I recently began the Tomb of Annihilation piloting a Tabaxi rogue. He is kind of a cross between Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes; channels his natural curiosity into being a detective and treasure hunter. He is a huge wuss and scooby doo runs out of melee every time a foe gets near, My plan has been to go inquisitive @Lv 3 and crossbow expert @Lv4. I tend to be a bit of an optimizer.
However, I was recently thinking it would be neat if I multiclassed into Warlock at Lv4 or 5. Work with the DM to encounter my patron in a dungeon crawl and get my magic powers that way.
How would you approach this if it were you? I figure i would mainly focus on rogue and dump a max of 3 levels into warlock over the whole 12-13 level campaign.
