Just getting back into D&D after a 20-25yr break (aside from ~10 rounds on the starter set 2-3yrs ago.) This is essentially my first rolled character in 20ish years. I am joining a weekly group whose campaign started in Dec last year - the DM boosted me up to level 6 so that I am around the same level as they are. I officially start playing with this character this coming Wednesday night, so I only have a couple of days left to make changes. Would love to know your thoughts and any feedback before I have to commit.
Except the race, looks EXACTLY like how I would make an arcane trickster. That race is good, but I like others flavor wise. In terms of optimization, the build is very good.
I took Ritual caster at 4 for Find Familiar and more spells. I used my level 3 any school spell for Shield instead. If you take care on your little buddy the extra 10 minutes will not matter.

Awesome, I made two alternate builds for this character
1. I changed the variant to Glasya, and removed my Hat of Disguise and grabbed a Headband of Intellect, so I was able to dump the INT to 8 and move some points over to WIS and CHA. I figured this could be helpful to increase my odds a bit for any deception checks. https://ddb.ac/characters/15405321/OQyTWk

Ok, I need to check out Ritual Casting - I really don't know anything about that one yet. Sheild is a good idea, too!
The High Elven cantrip at level 1 is super useful to get you started with your Booming Blade. I went for Fey Teleportation feat at level 8 to gain once per rest Misty Step. Since as an arcane trickster your spells are on the wizard list and you “learn” the spell that is one more non illusion/enchantment spell to add to you spell slots after first use.
Got a question with regards to minor illusion and stealth.
Can you cast it and then use your bonus action to stealth behind the illusion? Assuming of course that the illusion cast fits the area, i.e a tree in a forest, a wall in a building etc.

Thanks in advance
That looks pretty good.

2. I also have a version which I swapped race to high elf - and made some similar tweaks: https://ddb.ac/characters/15339576/pcvpdT
As a rogue would flying be more helpful, or would you see the changes in stats/spells be more meaningful?
