Here's my idea for a scout: Human(normal), rogue for 4 levels: take scout, then take 3 levels of druid: Frostbite and Druidcraft, not sure on 1st level spells. I would take gold, a spear, two daggers, explorers pack and leather armour. Maybe Light crossbow if i had enough money. How did it sound, and how to improve?

I have a similar build planned. Halfling tho, obviously. I like the grassland, underdark or swamp bonus spells work great with the rogue. Natural recovery works great as well. As for spells druids know all their spells but can only cast the ones they prepare, or cast as ritual. So you can change them out every morning to fit your needs that day. Wild shape seems like the best way to scout ahead but until druid's 8 level you are limited to walking/climbing creatures or swimming (lvl 4 druid).
