I have my first chance to play a Wild Magic Sorcerer with a Feywild shard. My question is: When you cast a spell using metamagic and have the Feywild Shard attuned, do you roll for a wild magic surge for the Shard and then also roll the d20 to see if the original spell being cast possibly surges? Or does the Feywild Shard replace the possibility of a random wild magic surge. i.e. would it be possible to have 2 surges with one casting of a spell?
Yes. In addition your first level ability allows you to get advantage on one roll of any kind , refreshing after rolling on the wild surge table. You can roll on this table whenever you cast metamagic. In other words, you can constantly gain advantage on attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws in combat with no limit other than your sorcery points.
